The Mission Statement
The mission of WOSU Public Media is to enrich lives through programming and community services that educate, inform, entertain, and inspire.

Vision
WOSU will be recognized as an indispensable multimedia and technology resource connecting community through preeminent programming and services. The organization and its employees will be leaders in building innovative models of community service that engage people in ideas, issues, and the diverse cultural life of our region.

Initiatives
Initiative 1. Build, encourage, and foster for ourselves a culture of cooperation, innovation, aspiration, and performance.
Goals:
• Enhance the training, knowledge base, and development of WOSU Staff.
• Refine our performance management system by integrating multiple sources of feedback.
• Develop a merit-based compensation system that rewards WOSU employees as we work towards excellence in our careers.

Initiative 2: Develop new and sustainable revenue streams.
Goals:
• Incorporate the major gifts fundraising philosophy into income-generating activities.
• Evaluate existing and build new business models.
• Establish new and enhance existing funds for original content.

Initiative 3: Strengthen our relevance to the community.
Goals:
• Enhance production of original, local content.
• Strategically plan content distribution for a multiplatform environment.
• Create community through public engagement.

Caregivers

Caregivers is a radio series hosted by Judith Brachman, former director of the Ohio Department of Aging, and airs on WOSU 820 AM Tuesday mornings at 8:50 am. Topics include AARP, Alzheimer’s disease, Medicare, and other issues of interest to the elderly and their families. more...

Join Boyce Lancaster, live from the Southern Theatre in downtown Columbus, as the Columbus Jazz Orchestra offers up a celebration of the Cole Porter Songbook.
